I am going to change my serpentine belt, is it a good idea to change the idler pulley with it?

How much will the labor cost me if i took it to a mechanic with the belt and idler pulley? 97 Honda civic. I am going to change my serpentine belt, is it a good idea to change the idler pulley with it?
you shouldn't have to change your idler pulley unless it is making noise or it is wobbling back and forth. to change the belt you need to loosen your tension pulley, it will probably slide toward the fire wall of the car. if the bolt loosens turn the other way. you do not want to take that pulley off unless you are ready to catch the tension spring. It is a easy job and I personally would not take it to a shop

well sometimes it wouldnt hurt at all maybe another 10 bucks more for part but really id do it myself wouldnt be but like 30 bucks might cost you 100 at a shop and its really not that hard.. but if your not up for it best you just call three shops and ask.. belts prices and shop prices will vary across town... i just replace mine belt was like 14 bucks pully was like 12I am going to change my serpentine belt, is it a good idea to change the idler pulley with it?
The pulley only needs to be changed if the bearing or spring (if it is spring-loaded) is bad. I am going to change my serpentine belt, is it a good idea to change the idler pulley with it?
Unless the pulleys is going bad no need to change it. I would think that a shop would do this for what ever the minimium the charge is. i would change both for 25 bucks or the belt for 20. maybe just a 12 pack if the company was good a few beers.
